As a Cobb County resident, homestead exemptions are a great way to reduce the amount of property taxes you pay for your home. But what exactly are homestead exemptions? Homestead exemptions are deducted from the assessed value of the qualifying property (40% of the fair market value). Exemptions only apply to homestead property you own and occupy as your legal residence.
You can have a homestead exemption on only one property. If you are married, by law you can only have one homestead exemption between you and your spouse.
Deadline for receiving exemption for 2023 tax year is April 1, 2023.
Failure to file by April 1, 2023 shall constitute a waiver of the exemption for the current tax year.
Please Note:
If you have previously started a filing but have not yet submitted, choose the “My Filings” menu option and select the filing with a status of “Draft Filing Created, But Not Yet Submitted.” to complete your filing. You don’t need to start a new filing.
If you have a filing with a status of “Draft Filing Created, But Not Yet Submitted.” and a modified date older than 30 days, the filing will be removed.

As a candidate for Mableton City Council, I am running to represent the needs and aspirations of our community. I understand the importance of creating a safe and clean environment for all residents, and I believe in the power of community initiatives to bring people together and strengthen our bonds.
My priorities include responsible and sustainable development that benefits everyone, regardless of their background or income level. I will work to increase transparency and build trust between residents and the city government so that everyone has a voice in shaping the future of our city. I am a strong advocate for the arts and culture; they play a critical role in enriching our community and bringing people together.
In addition to promoting the arts and culture, I am committed to maintaining neutral taxes, so everyone has the resources they need to thrive. I understand the importance of providing learning opportunities, especially for children, and I will collaborate with schools and Cobb County to create a brighter future for all.
Join me in working towards a Mableton that genuinely serves all its residents. Together, we can create a safe, clean, and vibrant city that provides opportunities for everyone to succeed and thrive. I look forward to serving you and working together to build a brighter future for our community.
